I had a pleasure of photographing guests at a fundraiser for 2nd Chance Dog Rescue. It was a roaring 20's theme, and we had the props to make it happen! I included some pictures that the fundraising manager requested, as well as some candids. Please enjoy & support their great cause!

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with my very good friend, Theresa, and of course her dog, Spot! I was inspired as soon as I saw the new throw blanket Theresa purchased for Spot. I'm a sucker for "matchy-matchy" design, so I was immediately struck by how the colors of the blanket brought out the intricacies of his coat. Spot was feeling quite sleepy on this sunny afternoon. His session reminded me a lot of a newborn session, in that he was relaxed enough to allow me to move him around to my liking. I wish all pet sessions were this easy! Please enjoy, and comment below if you'd like. --Maggie I have been trying a new service to find local people who need photographers, called Thumbtack. I have also been a user of Yelp, and had not heard of Thumbtack previous to starting my photography business. I have to say, this site is very detailed in providing exactly what the client is asking for, and then allows professionals to bid on the jobs--providing options for the clients to choose from. This is a great example of a site, although it is at a cost to those bidding, to find local jobs they might otherwise not be able to connect with. It also will help stimulate a local economy by targeting clients and professional in the same area. All in all, I look forward to booking more sessions through Thumbtack, in addition to Yelp, FaceBook, and my blog. In other news... I got a NEW FLASH! The Canon 600EX-RT, and although I have not had much time to play around with my new equipment--I am so pleased with my initial results. Take a look at the side by side results. Dramatic changes in a very low light situation. I will do a full post when I've had more time to explore. Another new addition to my ever growing photography bag is this gem from Mollie's Lil Makings Etsy store, I can't wait to use my puppy camera buddy to my next family photo shoot. This should make the task of getting children to look at the camera much, much easier! I plan on getting different camera buddies in the future. Thanks, Mollie's Lil Makings |
